We always do everything for the first time, so do wearing hearing aids, but often hearing loss patients report to us that I feel dizzy, headache and other discomfort just after wearing hearing aids. Does that matter? Am I not suitable to wear hearing aids?

In fact, it’s unnecessary for our patients to have these concerns. Most people will feel uncomfortable when they wear hearing aids for the first time. This is because we need an adaptation process when we wear hearing aids for the first time. Theoretically, it only takes 1 or 2 hours to wear hearing aids for the first time. Once you feel uncomfortable with your head, you can take off the hearing aids, There is no need to force yourself to continue wearing the hearing aid. After a few days of wearing it, continue to increase the wearing time after you fully adapt to the hearing aid. According to your specific situation, increase it to 3 to 4 hours, and so on. Each time, you can increase 1 or 2 hours. After you fully adapt, continue to increase the wearing time of the hearing aid.

After wearing hearing aids, it will take about one to two months to adapt. The specific adaptation time is different for each person. Each person’s hearing loss is different, and the adaptation ability is different, and the adaptation time is naturally different. Generally speaking, the lighter the degree of hearing loss, the younger the age, the shorter the time we adapt to hearing aids.

So you don’t need to feel flustered when you wear the hearing aid for the first time. Just adapt slowly.
